Core working principle of permanent magnet direct drive motor

  1. Excitation Method: The rotor incorporates high-performance permanent magnets (neodymium iron boron/smarium cobalt), eliminating the need for excitation windings and current. The permanent magnets provide a stable and high-intensity air gap magnetic field, eliminating excitation losses common in traditional motors.
  2. Transmission Logic: Alternating current is applied to the three-phase stator windings to generate a rotating magnetic field, which meshes synchronously with the rotor’s permanent magnet magnetic field, ensuring the motor speed matches the rotating magnetic field speed (no slip).
  3. Direct Drive Core: The motor output shaft is rigidly connected directly to the load (pump body, fan impeller, conveyor belt rollers, etc.), eliminating intermediate power transmission links and avoiding transmission gaps, friction, and slippage losses.
